Editorial Projects

I crafted a proposal to pitch a partnership to the LINE platform and to Business Insider’s executive, editorial, business development and tech teams. I learned and taught the publishing CMS, developed a strategy for publishing to the platform, created a small team of internal contributors and worked on every aspect of the project in some way. For the first month, I managed the account. Prior to launch, I licensed the rights to use LINE’s characters in Business Insider account promotions at no charge.

Business Insider Facebook Live Strategy

For Business Insider, Facebook Live means more live news and events coverage. The publisher is now doing six live streams per day across its Business Insider, Business Insider UK, Tech Insider and Insider pages. The content, which is overseen by a four-person team, focuses on covering big news and events such as Brexit, for which the publisher did live interviews explaining the issue while also covering rallies and protests held after the vote.

How Brexit is helping shape Business Insider’s Facebook Live strategy

I worked with Business Insider, Tech Insider and Insider video teams to develop an ambitious Facebook Live strategy including regular programming, engagement-driven broadcasts, live event coverage and special projects. I co-hosted a live career advice show and remotely produced broadcasts from London, Sydney and Stockholm.

Live on Facebook with Bloomberg on election day in Tehran

A producer in London pitched a reporter Q&A Facebook Live. The idea was to have a reporter answer questions about Iran’s elections from a Bloomberg studio. I worked with the team to shift their focus toward creating a more interactive Facebook Live experience, championing an approach that allowed our reporter to share his experience with an audience not privy to the same access while sharing his insights along the way.

#ComeyTestimony to Twitter

I oversaw a live social broadcast of the June 2017 testimony of former FBI Director James Comey before the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, devising a cross-platform promotion strategy, delegating tasks and coordinating with a platform partner. Bloomberg worked exclusively with Twitter to stream Comey’s testimomy, generating 2.7 million views. Real-time clips generated an additional 500,000 views. The project was a finalist for a Shorty Award.

I worked across internal and external teams in collaboration with a London-based social editor to execute Twitter’s first ever sponsored moment from Davos 2018 with Bank of America.

Live Journalism at Bloomberg

In 2017, we set out to highlight editorial content from Bloomberg live events across social platforms. Our goal: use social media to build awareness of Bloomberg Live events and drive conversations around programming and news from the events. We live streamed exclusive interviews and major events, generating millions of views across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. We amplified the conversation around each event and helped @BloombergLive build an audience of nearly 10,000 on Twitter.
